My View of SOPA and PIPA

SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIPA (Protect IP Act) are the most ridiculous bills ever passed though congress. The fact that they have made it this far proves that they are being pushed by government lobbyist for the entertainment industries. Even the Obama administration has voiced its disapproval. In their current states SOPA and PIPA would give big businesses way more power than just fighting online piracy. Hundreds of new businesses that are starting online could be shut down. The entertainment industry has the potential to make billions if these bills pass. Americans spend hours on the internet dayly, and we could soon be forced to pay for every drop of entertainment we get. I have noticed many websites protesting these acts. I first noticed yesterday when I went on Google.com and the logo was blacked out. Most people do not realize that this could change the everyday news and the information we are fed. I strongly disagree with censorship, and I disagree with these acts. That is my view of SOPA and PIPA.

  2. I have been following this very closely as you can tell XD. As of today SOPA has been pulled from the house “until there is wider agreement on a solution,” yet the vote on PIPA is still on for next Tuesday...
